Tübingen, Germany

Thursday, December 4, 2014

The day after visiting the Black Forest with my friend Candice, we decided to spend the morning in a nearby town called Tübingen. Situated on the Neckar river, Tübingen embodies the traditional German town many people envision in their head. Filled with colorful houses, cobblestone streets and half timbered buildings, the town is known for their medieval history and also Tübingen University.

We started our day off by eating at a small cafe in town that advertised crepes and other treats outside its shop. When it was time to order our food, I chose the nutella filled crepe. Oh my goodness...it was absolutely delicious! I wish I had taken a picture of it to show all of you. I guess you'll just have to believe me. ;)

After breakfast we strolled around the downtown area but since it was a Sunday, most shops were closed (like everything else on Sunday in Germany). We made our way down to the Neckar river and decided to take the opportunity to snap some pictures. Candice is really interested in photography as well so it turned into a fun little "photo shoot". Shortly after taking photos, we had to leave. Sadly, I needed to leave in the early afternoon so I could make it home before it got too dark. My time in Tübingen was short yet sweet. It's such a cute town with a lot of charm, so if you're ever in the area or even in Baden-Württemberg, make sure to check out this gem of a town!
